The Storyteller

...telling the stories of Christians from around the world

People are interested in people. We like to know about others and in some small way share in their joys and struggles. Christian testimony can be a powerful thing. By telling real-life stories we hope to communicate the existence of a real and personal God who is both interested in and interacts with real people.

The Storyteller takes advantage of both these facts. Interesting stories about Christians from all over the world are adapted to create this long running programme series. So far The Storyteller has completed two series, with a total of 484 episodes.

What's involved?

Adapting stories for radio involves reading and re-reading suitable books in order to become familiar with the content and decide on how it can be broken down into episodes. We aim at between six and eight fifteen minute episodes for each book depending on its length. All the elements of the story need to be identified, and decisions made on what needs to be left out. Then the story can be typed up and a short summary written for the beginning of each episode. Once the script has been checked and double checked it is ready for recording.
