Working With Partnerships in Nigeria
Radio Worldwide has been privileged to be involved in an informal partnership with
the Media Department of the Nigerian Baptist Convention.
The NBC Media Department ('Baptist Media') has a network of workers throughout the
country of Nigeria, all working to make and use various forms of media as part of the
ministry of that church.
Our first contact was when a group of three RW staff,
travelled to Nigeria to offer a radio training course for NBC Media dept staff and others.
The course was held in the NBC Theological Seminary at Ogbomosho.
Since then we have been in correspondence with Mr Matthew Afolabi, the departmental
head of Baptist Media, offering advice with developments in their ministry.
In 1999 we were glad to be able to welcome Matthew to the Radio Worldwide HQ in
Rothwell, in order to help him with some technical training and assist him in a research
project.
